Coding agents in the social sciences

Anthropic published a survey of 1,260 social scientists regarding AI and coding agent adoption. The study reports that 81 percent of respondents have tried AI chatbots, but only 20 percent use coding agents. It highlights disparities in usage based on gender and institution prestige. This is a research finding, not a new developer tool or security event.
