Introducing cf: the agentic CLI for the entire Cloudflare API
Cloudflare launched the cf CLI, a global beta tool that replaces Wrangler and covers the entire Cloudflare platform via JSON and TypeScript config. It adds commands for all Cloudflare products, supports agent-driven workflows, and sets Vite as the default dev server. Early adoption shows agents now run nearly half of CLI traffic.

Cloudflare announced the open‑beta of cf, a command‑line interface that replaces Wrangler and reaches across the entire Cloudflare API. The tool uses JSON by default and a new cloudflare.config.ts format built on TypeScript, while Vite is now the standard local development server. In March 2026 agents accounted for a quarter of Wrangler usage, and last week that share climbed to 48%. Agents issue almost twice as many distinct commands per day as human users and are nearly four times as likely to run six or more commands, so giving them access to all 3,000 API operations expands their productivity dramatically. By generating commands from the OpenAPI schema, cf lifts the previous limit of roughly 280 Wrangler commands, allowing a single tool to set up workers, deploy code, manage domains and configure security features. This unified experience reduces the friction of switching tools and aligns with the growing trend of agentic software development. Cloudflare has not disclosed how quickly adoption will translate into broader ecosystem support or whether existing documentation will fully migrate to the new interface. It is also unclear how the performance of agents using cf compares with legacy Wrangler workflows in real‑world deployments. Further data from the open beta will be needed to confirm these expectations.
