OpenAI forms math advisory group as its AI resolves more than 100 open problems

OpenAI established an independent mathematics advisory group at the Institute for Advanced Study to coordinate the release of AI-generated proofs. The move follows the publication of a solution to the Navier-Stokes problem and claims of over 100 other resolved issues. While the group assesses significance, it lacks authority to slow internal research or override company decisions.
