Shopify opens checkout to browser-based AI agents

Shopify adds WebMCP checkout APIs—get_checkout, update_checkout, complete_checkout—enabling browser‑based AI agents to read, modify, and finalize purchases on merchant sites. The rollout targets all eligible merchants and leverages the Universal Commerce Protocol.
